The primary role of CIFSA is to act as an independent association representing the interests of International Financial Services companies based in Cyprus and regulated by the Superintendent of Insurance / The Insurance Companies Control Service of Cyprus. CySEC regulated entities are also entitled to apply for membership and receive subsequent benefits.
Throughout it’s history, the relationship between CIFSA and the Cyprus Regulator has developed into one of great importance; offering constructive, unified views to the regulator when it is felt necessary or requested, and acting as a point of reference and advice for the Regulator on current issues facing the industry.
Perhaps the most important role of all is the role of CIFSA to mediate and offer advice on complaints received by the ICCS who refer each complaint to the board of directors for an independent, professional, unbiased view from an organisation which is well versed in the laws, regulations, and ethics surrounding the industry.
